In this workshop, we explore the shape, movement, and presence of the human body – not as an ideal, but as a starting point for personal perspectives and artistic interpretation.
We begin with a drawing session: You’ll observe a nude model in various poses and capture what you see on paper. The goal isn’t perfect drawing, but noticing posture, tension, and expression. We’ll provide simple templates and helpful materials to support your process.
Afterwards, you’ll move into working with clay: Sculpting individual body parts or small figures – whatever captures your interest. Whether it’s hands, backs, faces, or a particular pose, the focus is yours to choose.
Throughout the session, the model will return to selected poses, giving you the chance to sculpt directly from observation – a hands-on study in form, proportion, and presence.
You’ll receive guidance both in working with clay and in translating the human form into three-dimensional material.
Included:
– 1.5 kg of clay
– Bisque and glaze firing of your finished piece(s)
No prior experience is needed – this course is open to beginners and those with experience alike.
The workshop space will be visually closed off to create a focused and respectful environment.
Aprons are available on-site. Clay washes out easily. Please wear clothes that can get dusty.
Language: the primary language of this course is German. Teachers can answer direct questions in eglish.
