In this two-day workshop, you'll create handcrafted cabinets of curiosities for small treasures and personal finds. Starting with objects you bring along, such as shells or stones, you'll develop sculptural, wall-mounted displays from clay. Experience the creative process and build a place for your treasures that is as precious as they are.

Course schedule
Day 1
Together with Katie, you'll learn the fundamentals of hand-building, from pinch pot techniques to slab building. Katie will share her specialized knowledge of building techniques and show you how to structure and creatively design your cabinet of curiosities. Step by step, you'll develop your own objects and decide which shapes, textures, and details best suit your treasures.

Day 2
You refine the surfaces, experiment with different textures and prints, and create small accompanying objects. The goal is to implement your own ideas, try new things, and ultimately create unique objects that enrich your collection.

Materials and extras included
All materials and the bisque firing for the pinch pot boxes, as well as the larger, wall-mounted cabinet of curiosities, are included. Typically, three to four pieces are fired per person. You also receive three additional studio hours, for example, for glazing. Further pieces can be fired at the studio rate of €6.50/kg/firing.
