An unforgettable day for your child and his friends! Immerse yourself in the exciting world of ceramics at our children's birthday parties.

From shaping clay, trying out turning on the potter's wheel and painting works - get to know the material clay in one afternoon.

We will prepare everything you need for your 3-hour pottery afternoon. You are welcome to bring drinks, snacks, a cake, as well as dishes and cutlery. The birthdays can be conducted in both German and English.

To the process

At the beginning of the workshop, we show all the children together how they can create their own small ceramic pieces by hand. Using the construction technique, they can develop their creativity, create unique works of art and make their first contact with the material clay. After all the children have familiarized themselves with the construction technique and are working independently with the help of our assistant, they can try working on the wheel in small groups of two children each. Our teaching staff shows the steps and takes turns to accompany the children on the wheel.

After the first part of the creative work, there is a cake break. Here the children can refresh themselves and share their experiences while they prepare for the next step. In the meantime, our staff prepares the hand-shaped pieces so that they can be painted. Pieces made on the potter's wheel are too wet to be painted.

At the end of the course, each child will receive at least 1 and a maximum of 3 pieces. When turning the wheel, it may be that no pieces are created that can be taken home, so we will start with the construction technique so that there is definitely something lasting 🙂

After the course, we fire the pieces and also take care of glazing them (uniformly - with transparent glaze). The pieces can be picked up 3 weeks after the birthday (all together, please). We will send an email as soon as the pieces are ready for collection.

Our birthday parties generally take place on Monday or Sunday afternoons between 2 and 5 p.m. - but you are welcome to suggest a different time/day! Up to 8 children can take part in the birthday party and the course lasts 3 hours. For each additional child, €49.40 is added to the course price. Your child and his or her friends will be looked after by a teacher and an assistant.

We recommend a minimum age of 6 years for our ceramic birthday party.
