In this four-part course you will develop your own ceramic lighting object – from the shape to the surface to the wiring.

Together we will develop the structure of the ceramic body from stoneware. You will learn how to create stable and harmonious forms for lamps and what is important regarding wall thickness and proportions. Step by step, you will guide your object from its raw state to firing and gain insights into constructive solutions.

A key component of the course is surface design. Depending on the design, we work with glazes or minimalist, material-focused surfaces.

In a separate session, we'll work together to transform the fired objects into functional lamps. You'll learn the basics of wiring and assemble your ceramic piece into a fully functional light fixture.

At the end of the course, you will take home a self-designed ceramic lighting object – precisely built, consciously designed and ready for use.
