Clay Fruit Basket - Handbuilding Course

- Building: 24.6. 18:00-22:00, Glazing: 15.07. 19:00-20:00
- Building: 16.7. 18:00-22:00, Glazing: 08.08. 09:00-10:00
In this course, you will create your own clay fruit basket step by step. Using coiling and slab-building techniques, you will create a functional object that is light, stable, and unique. Round or angular, open or compact, simple or textured. You determine the form, proportion, and surface.
You will learn the basics of hand-building techniques with a focus on coiling and apply this knowledge directly to a functional piece. At the end of the course, you will have an independently designed clay fruit basket that combines everyday usability and craftsmanship.
Course Schedule
- Appointment (Building): Introduction to material and technique, developing ideas and planning forms, fundamentals of coiling technique, building and stably finishing your own object, designing surfaces and detailing
- Appointment (Glazing): Applying brushing glazes - the piece will then be high-fired by us
All inclusive: All materials, firing costs, and glaze are included in the workshop price. You can pick up your finished fruit basket approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.
You don't need to bring anything. Clothes that can get dusty are sufficient.
Aprons are provided. Clay washes out easily.

About the Course Instructor
The course is led by experienced instructors from the Rami Ceramic Studio.
The instructors have many years of experience with hand-building techniques and place great emphasis on clean construction, stable forms, and functional ceramics.
In addition to the basics, you will gain insights into professional working methods and practical tips that will be useful beyond the course.
