In this workshop, you will explore the form and expression of the human body. We start with a short drawing phase to carefully observe the posture and movement of the nude model, completely free from any claims of perfection.
Afterward, you will work three-dimensionally in clay: individual body parts, small figures, or a pose that particularly appeals to you. The model will assume the positions multiple times so that you can model directly from observation.
We will guide you both technically and creatively. You will learn the basics of sculptural work: blocking, reduction technique, smoothing, finishing, and identifying anatomical landmarks. The body can be realistic, reduced, or freely interpreted.
The goal is your own small figure or body study that makes your personal approach to the topic palpable.
Includes:
- 1.5 kg clay (for 1–2 sculptures)
- Bisque and transparent glaze firing
No prior knowledge necessary. The room is visually shielded throughout the workshop and offers a focused, protected atmosphere. Aprons are provided. Clay is washable.
